"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period."

I think that putting money into art or music program is helping some kids get into what might might be their workforce and is not a wast of tax payers dollars. For some kids art is a way for them to escape reality and can be helpful. Art is also a way for people to express themselves and gives some kids the voice they didn't have. I feel like in general there are not enough classes that actually make me feel prepared to enter the workforce, and a lot of the art classes have either opened up opportunities for people I know or can teach you about how you would get your work out in a market. Overall I believe that tax dollars should be used to fund art programs. Not just because it's a way to make students happy but because it can teach many different lessons that finding the area of a triangle will never teach you.
